Michael Jordan has had an unparalleled impact on the game of Basketball in terms of fashion with the long shorts to the changing in the ways the game has come to be played with an above the rim image. He has made millions of fans and taken the game of basketball to new heights. The game of Basketball could be said to be reliant on Michael Jordan and he has made impacts others can only dream of to game. The fact that he retired for almost two seasons adds new dimensions to the character that is Michael Jordan.

Before Retirement in November 1993

When Jordan ended his Basketball career back in November 1993 Michael Jordan had three Championship rings, two Olympic Gold medals as well as seven Scoring titles and a defensive player of the year title.

Many people see Michael Jordan primarily as a scorer and with Seven titles this could be thought to be true. This is because he also has the Best finals Scoring average of 41 points per game against Phoenix in 1993 and the record for most points scored in a single Playoff Game of 63 against the Boston Celtics. He also won league MVP in 1988, 1991, and 1992. There was however a defensive presence, which was unequalled. Michael led the league in steals in 1988, 1990 and 1993. Michael was the Defensive player of the year in 1988 becoming a complete player. He was voted to the all defensive team for the last six years. To Go along with all these accolades he also won rookie of the year after being selected 3rd in the 1984 Draft after Akeem Olajuwon (later Hakeem) and Sam Bowie.

The All-star career was also quite amazing and every year of his career after 1986 he was selected to play for the eastern conference. He was named MVP in 1988 when he scored 40 points 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The Slam dunk title was also familiar ground for Michael picking up to dunk titles in 1988 and 1987.

To go along with all of this was a NCAA championship in1982 with the North Carolina Tarheel’s.

March 18th 1995

History is made with Michael Jordan returning to the NBA. The Bulls are expected by all to sweep all aside and go back to their winning ways with Michael Jordan back at the helm. It was the Houston Rockets however who clinched the 1995 title. With Failure in the Playoffs Michael Comes back and says that he will come back next season prepared. With this Promise the Bulls ran riot over the league and won a league record of 72 wins. A league MVP award also was the result of the incredible season. The Playoffs where just a formality and the Bulls and Michael Jordan won their fourth title.

The next two seasons where similar and the Bulls won a further two titles. This Brought the Tally to six for both the Bulls and Michael Jordan. During this Three-year period Michael Jordan also won more scoring titles and two further MVP titles in the All-star game. Further Finals MVP titles were also on the cards for the spectacular performances that seemed to come natural to Michael Jordan at playoff time.

At the time of writing the career of Michael Jordan was in jeopardy because of the Chicago Bulls Directors wanted to dissemble the team because of age and introduce a new coach. Michael refuses to play for anyone other than Phil Jackson. Even if he does not play another game in the NBA he will go down in history as one of the greatest if not the Greatest.
